Education Center
Client: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
Project Scope: Colimore Thoemke Architects (CTA) provided full architectural, space planning, interior design, and construction administration services for the renovation/conversion of an existing 3,000 SF space into the Department of Medicine’s Education Center. CTA’s design included renovation of the library and a new, state-of-the-art, conference room for 50 people.
CTA coordinated the integration of remote controls for the A/V systems, lights, and window shades, a new audio/visual system featuring dual LCD projectors, and plasma screen monitors strategically positioned through-out the conference room.
Additionally, the room is fully equipped for tele- and video- conferencing and recording.
CTA’s interior design service coordinated the paint, carpet, wood casework, and mahogany paneling with the client’s furniture selection.
The support space in the rear of the conference room includes a caterer’s staging area and a bank of telephones and medical system computer terminals for use by attendees.
CTA’s design for the renovation of the library included new paint, carpeting, ceilings, and reconfigured lighting.
