Client: Exceptional Care for Children
Project Scope: Colimore Thoemke Architects originally designed the 75,000 square foot, four building complex for a 60-bed Head Injury Recovery and Rehabilitation Center. The residential building is being converted to a 20-bed children's hospice (skilled nursing) on two floors and accommodations for up to ten visiting families on the third floor. Architectural, structural and HVAC modifications were accomplished and gases and a nurse call system were designed. Special design considerations included a refrigerated family viewing room, a multi-sensory room, and a body holding room.
